MELVIN SANDIFER

Apr 3, 1956 — Aug 24, 2026

Melvin Sandifer, born on April 3, 1956, in Palmer, Texas, passed away on August 24, 2026, in Balch Springs, Texas.

Melvin will be remembered as a man whose presence brought warmth and energy wherever he went. Funny, sarcastic, and witty, he had a way of making people laugh while also making them feel welcome. He was open-minded, extroverted, loving, and caring, and those who knew him understood him to be a great provider and a Christian whose life reflected deep care for the people around him.

He was a proud graduate of South Oak Cliff High School, Class of 1975, and counted graduating high school among his proudest accomplishments. Melvin worked as a medical courier, carrying out his work with dedication and responsibility. Among the joys of his daily life were family gatherings, attending events at the senior citizen center, and spending time gaming on his phone. These simple pleasures reflected his sociable spirit and his enjoyment of both community and connection.

One of Melvin’s greatest sources of pride was his daughter Stacey, whose achievement as a first-generation college graduate meant so much to him. That pride spoke to the kind of father he was—encouraging, supportive, and deeply invested in the lives of his children.

He is survived by his daughters, Natalie Sandifer and Patrice Sandifer, who carry forward his memory and the love he gave so freely.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Sandifer; his daughter, Stacey Sandifer; his mother, Mary Alice Lane; and his father, Weldon Washington.

Melvin’s life was marked by humor, heart, and a welcoming spirit that made others feel at home in his company. He leaves behind memories of laughter, love, and family connection that will continue to be cherished by those who knew him.
