Nelene Irvin, (NELL) a beloved daughter of Ennis, Texas, was born on October 14, 1945, and passed away peacefully at her home in Ennis on February 11, 2026. She leaves a remarkable legacy as a steadfast community member, a dedicated professional, and a cherished friend.
For 40 years, Nell served as a machine operator and binder at Ennis Business Forms, where her professionalism and commitment were evident to all who had the pleasure of working alongside her. Her admirable career was complemented by her devotion to her church, where she actively contributed to many depts in the church and was eventually became the Mother of the Church. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, inspiring those around her.
Known for her straightforward demeanor, Nell had a unique ability to make everyone feel special. Her warmth was felt not only within her family but also by her extended community. She treasured her relationships, with close friends and family and spent countless hours socializing and creating joyful memories with them.
Nell's passion for cooking was only matched by her love for savoring delicious meals. She found joy in nurturing her house plants and had a delightful collection of elephant figurines, each holding a special place in her heart. Throughout her life, her dedication extended beyond her personal interests; she was proud to have founded a breast cancer awareness foundation, n, showing her commitment to impactful causes and her desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
Family and friends will celebrate her life with a wake service at the Independent Missionary Baptist Church on February 20, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM. A funeral service honoring Nell will take place the following day, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Ennis Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
As we remember Nell, we honor her loving spirit, her unwavering dedication, and the indelible mark she has left in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed but her memory will live on through the lives she touched.
