Nicholas Perez Ortiz Jr. passed away on July 28th, 2026, leaving a legacy of warmth, generosity, loyalty, and devotion to those around him. Born in Dallas, TX, on July 26, 1974, he was 52 years old.

Nick was a gentle, free-spirited man who lived on his own terms. He enjoyed walking the streets of Oak Cliff, where he was born, and was a devoted Dallas Mavericks fan known for his kind heart and willingness to help others. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas V. Ortiz, and his younger brother, Edward P. Ortiz; his paternal grandparents, George F and Lenore V. Ortiz; and his maternal grandparents, Jose G. and Herlinda M. Perez.

He is survived by his mother, Amada Perez Ortiz; his brother, Daniel P. Ortiz; his sisters, Kathleen P. Ortiz and Anita P. Ortiz;  many aunts, uncles, cousins, and all those who loved him dearly.

In keeping with his generous spirit, Nick became an organ donor, giving the gift of life even in death; the final act reflects the compassion he showed throughout his life

He will be laid to rest beside his brother Edward Perez Ortiz at Calvary Hills Cemetery in Dallas, TX.

His spirit, his love, and his memory will live on in all those who knew and loved him.

Though he is gone, Nick's spirit, kindness, and memory will live on, and with hearts in the hearts of his family and friends forever. He loved the word of God and was devoted to his faith in the Lord. He loved the outdoors and was very adventurous. He also loved music and movies.
