Born on August 24, 1941, in Bullard, Texas, Norma dedicated 37 years of her life to educating and shaping the minds of countless students before retiring from her teaching career.

Known for her no-nonsense approach and blunt honesty, she also exuded warmth and kindness once one was able to break through her outer shell. The legacy of Norma Elizabeth Van Dyke will be celebrated during a visitation on November 26, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. Following this, a funeral service will be held on November 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at Golden Gate Funeral Home. Norma will then be laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 1:30 PM the same day.
