OLLIS HALL

December 1, 1946 — March 7, 2019

Sister Ollis Hall was born on December 1, 1946, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to the proud parents the late Nelson Anthony and the late Elvira Anthony. Sister Hall attended area schools, including J.S. Clark Middle School, and she graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. Sister Hall also attended Grambling State University and Wiley College.

Sister Hall accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age, and was baptized at Trinity Baptist Church of Shreveport, Louisiana, under the leadership of the late Reverend J. E. Gillie.
Sister Hall was united in Holy Matrimony to Brother James Hall of Shreveport, Louisiana, and to this union, two sons were born, Jemal and Jason Hall.

Sister Hall spent her entire career in education, working at various schools in the Caddo Parish School System. She was an active member at Trinity Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Morris Austin, until she became ill. Although dealing with illness, Sister Hall enjoyed spending time with family and friends. And, with her vivacious and fiery personality, she was known for making others grin with laughter. She was truly dedicated to Christ, her family, and her two sons, Jemal and Jason.

Sister Hall was a life-long resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, until her illness, and the passing of her husband in 2006, convinced her to move to Dallas, Texas, with her sons. After moving to Dallas, Texas, she remained a committed Servant of the Lord, while enjoying her family and grandkids up until her last days.

After a courageous fight with a long-term illness, she was called home by her heavenly father on March 7, 2019, at 2 o’clock a.m.

The memory of the life Sister Ollis Hall lived shall never die, but shall linger in the hearts and minds of all of those lives she touched as she passed this way with love, compassion and bravery.

Sister Hall leaves behind a beloved family that includes: sons, Jemal Hall of Mesquite, TX, and Jason Hall (Sherri) of Forney, TX; grandchildren, Jayla Hall, Mason Hall, and Madison Hall; sister, Patricia Strange (Joseph) of Chandler, Arizona; brother, Nelson Anthony (Jaime) of Houston, TX; mother-in-law, Virdell Hall; nephews, Canaan Anthony, Coulson Anthony, and Jacques Lowe; nieces, Maya Strange, Janae Strange, and Mikala Davis; caretaker, Keke Bosley; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, other cherished relatives, and friends.
