PATRICIA HOPKINS

October 11, 1947 — October 30, 2021

Patricia Ann Hopkins was born on October 11, 1947 to the union of Howard and Leola Hopkins in Dallas, TX. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Good Street Baptist Church.

Patricia was a loyal employee of then Southwestern Bell Telephone Co and now AT&T for over 30+ dedicated years before retiring in 2000 as a Manager. Prior to being promoted into management she was a loyal member of the union, Communication Workers of America for many years. Even well beyond her management days she continued to support the union and the employees affiliated with it.

Throughout Patricia’s successful career she took advantage of many educational opportunities to advance into management. She gained many friends along the way whom she loved and adored very much.  Patricia always encouraged others to advance in their career including her Baby Sister, Kattina. There was a time when Patricia accompanied a young employee on a road trip to Houston as an opportunity to advance his career from Operator Services to an Outside Technician, where he too retired from AT&T. She did what it took in making sure you kept “that good job at SWB/AT&T”.

Patricia was so many things to so many people. She will forever be remembered.  Patricia dedicated many volunteer hours assisting United Way, American Heart Association and the YMCA, where she and her sister Kattina worked many fundraisers together. You just couldn’t say “No” to her. She was a dedicated and beloved Band Booster with the Big 'D' Marching Band at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center; She served with love for over 10 years.

She is preceded in death by father Howard Hopkins Sr. and mother Leola Hopkins Ervin, brothers Howard Hopkins Jr., Reginald Hopkins and Horace Hopkins.

She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Iberia Clark; sisters, Regina Hopkins, Kattina Hopkins Bryan; grandchildren, Tiffany Clark, Timothy Clark; great grandchildren, Isaiah Clark, Jacob Clark; cousins, April White Jackson (Kenneth), Jazzi Shodeinde (Ahmed), Jeff Pope; plus a host of nieces, nephews and other wonderful relatives and friends.
