Patsy Paula Stewart-Burch was born on July 12, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Edward and Alice Stewart. She was the third child born of seven.
Patsy grew up in Hopkins Park, IL and received her education from the St. Anne Public school system. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended St. Paul M. B. Church in Hopkins Park, IL. In her adult life, Patsy resided in IL where she worked for BCBS of IL. She later moved to MS in 1976 and was employed at Acme Picture Frame. She developed a desire to work with developmentally disabled adults and worked for Delta Manor in Clarksdale, MS for 30 years where she later retired. She had a love and a passion for developmentally disabled adults and took her work very seriously.
Patsy enjoyed sewing and her greatest love was going fishing. She always kept her fishing reel in her trunk. She use to say, “You never know when I may come up on a hole and have to wet my hook.” Anyone that knew her could attest to her being a woman of kindness, love, yet had a quick comeback that would make you laugh. She was a jazzy lady and was a joy to all that knew her. To her grandkids, she was their “Foxxy Grandma.”
When Patsy relocated to Friars Point, MS, she became a member of Friendship MB Church in Friars Point where she served on the Mother Board and was a member of the choir. She was a faithful member until she moved to Dallas, TX in 2014 to be closer to her children.
On October 22, 2019, Patsy received her wings after a battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones. She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving faithful daughters: Alice (Anthony) Boyd of Dallas, TX, Cindy (Donald) Williams of Austin, TX, and Vanita (David) Williams of Dallas, TX; her grandchildren: Tyeacia (Roderick), Wynnetria (Mark), Andrika, Carmecia, Clintece, Kameron, Isaac, and Isaiah; her great-grandchildren: Tyshun, Jaylin, Cayden, Kylee, Journee, Ja'Vion, and Bryson. Two brothers; Edmond (Gloria) Stewart of Apple Valley, CA and Mark Stewart of Dallas, TX.; three sisters: Darlene Stewart-Killibrew of Dallas, TX, Carolyn Hunter of Southaven, MS, and Elizabeth Cohens of Tacoma, WA; a special and dear friend: Clara Neal . A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
