PAULETTE RENEE MELVIN

October 23, 1954 — December 14, 2025

Paulette Renee Melvin was born, with a disability, on October 23, 1954, in Huntsville, Texas, to Rev. Leonard L. Justice Sr. and Odessa L. Justice. She was raised in a loving, faith-centered home and was the second-born child among one older sister and two younger brothers. Her parents later moved to Fort Worth, Texas, to start a new life and her father became the pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas.

Paulette’s life was deeply rooted in her faith. She was a devoted and active member of Immanuel Baptist Church until 1991, when a traumatic event resulted in her becoming permanently disabled.

She attended and graduated from Alexander Hogg School in Fort Worth, Texas. While attending, Paulette met her husband, A.M. Melvin Jr. The two later married and were blessed with two children, whom she cherished deeply.

Until 1991, Paulette had previously been employed at Goodwill, McDonald’s, and other places, and she was a loving homemaker. Despite all, she continued to move forward with strength, determination, and grace, showing everyone around her that challenges did not diminish her spirit. She faced every challenge with grace and a warm spirit.

Paulette was known for her beauty, her kindness, and her unwavering smile. Even in difficult times, she always found a way to bring light to those around her, never allowing her disability to define or limit her. Her strength, gentleness, and love will be deeply missed by all who know and love her.

Paulette Renee Melvin passed away on December 14, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, under the watchful eyes of Jesus Christ and her son. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and church family.

Paulette is survived by her children: daughter, Malecia Justice; son, Le’Nard Justice; granddaughters, Odyssei Justice-Moody, Alanis Justice, and Onessa Justice; grandson, Timothy Willrich; sister, Gale L. Fontenot; aunts, Constance Love, Katherine Stoneham, and Dorothy Ingram; four great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by father, Rev. Leonard L. Justice Sr.; mother, Odessa L. Justice; brothers, Reginald G. Justice and Leonard L. Justice Jr.; and husband, A.M. Melvin Jr.
