PEARL DORSEY

January 10, 1956 — December 13, 2021

Pearl Renee Dorsey, also known as “Na Na” & Renee, was born January 10th, 1956 to the parentage of Napoleon and Inola Johnson. Renee graduated from South Grand Prairie High School in 1974 and furthered her education at Mountain View College.

Renee found Christ at a young age, growing up in faith at Lighthouse Deliverance Church of God in Christ, where her father was a minister and mother also served. Also, during Renee’s adolescent years, her father pastored Rehoboth Church of God in Christ. Renee enjoy her time at church with her relatives and friends. Because of her strong faith background, she along with her late husband Charles ensured the kids grew up in faith at church as well.

In Renee’s adult years, she rededicated her life back to Christ and was a faithful member of Lighthouse, where she served on the Usher Board and occasionally sung in the choir. Sometime later, she was lead/called to join The Potter’s House where she continued her faith walk and was a faithful member. Renee greatly enjoyed the great word of the lord that was delivered. She also enjoyed conferences and special church functions, it all enriched her spirit and prepared her for the trials and battles she faced and endured.

Not only was she a faithful member at church, but she was also committed and dedicated to everyone in her life, including helping strangers, and committed to anything she did.  There are countless stories of those she encouraged, assisted in times of need and provided words of comfort to. She was that shoulder to lean on, confidant and unyielding in her faithfulness to her family and friends.  Her love, care and compassion were also reflected in her faithful, relentless and delicate care she gave while caring for her mother.

Renee’s commitment and dedication were also reflected in her career and work ethic. Renee retired from American Airlines/Eagle after nearly 30 years of service. She was a valiant and enthusiastic member of the “Sister’s in the Spirit” book club. She loved the time she spent with the ladies of the book club, discussing books, participating in special functions and retreats.
