PERRY EDWARDS

Perry Lee Edwards 63 years old was born on October 1, 1956 to Ellen Thomas and James Newsome in Monroe, La. He was united with Christ and baptized an early age at Hope Well Baptist Church  of Mangham, La. Under the leadership of Reverend A.W. Watkins He graduated from Mangham High School in 1974.

He moved to Dallas in 1974 where he started working with his Aunt Lucy Thornton at the Adolphus Hotel, later he went on to drive trucks with Formosa Food for eighteen years after that he worked for Schneider Truck Co. for five years til retirement. He met Dorothy Gay his wife in 1993 and was together until death.

Perry entered into eternal life on August 23, 2020. He was preceded in death by his mother Ellen Thomas; father James Newsome; grandparents, Booker Edwards; Clarice Edwards; Lula Mae Edwards; sisters, Felecia Thomas, Alethia Thomas, and Lori Thomas; He Leaves to cherish in his memories Dorothy Gay Edwards (wife) ; One daughter Jermesha Edwards; her sister Kiesty Sample; brother, Melvin Sample; Two grandsons Xzavion Williams; Jer’Davion Williams; two granddaughters Jer’yah Williams, Juiz Stratton; Dallas, Texas. Sister, Elizabeth Mims (Roy); nephew, Marlon Thomas Mims ,and Royce Mims; niece Roynisha Mims– California.

One uncle Booker T. Edwards III Dallas; six aunts, Ollie Lynch (Larry) Atlanta GA. Linda Edwards Dallas, Deborah Wilhite (Jerry) Monroe LA., Wilma Edwards Monroe LA. Tammy Edwards; Dallas, Texas and Terry Staten (Anthony); Rayville LA.  Two special cousins, Phyllis Pauline  Williams (Roosevelt); Dallas, Texas Damon Edwards; Dallas, Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that loved him dearly. Perry even though your were our nephew, we were raised together as brothers and sisters. You will forever live in our hearts.
