QUILLA BROWN

November 13, 1948 — April 3, 2020

Quilla Brown, Jr. was born on November 13, 1948 in Lee County, Texas.  He was the second of eleven children born to the union of Quilla, Sr. and Willie Mae Wade Brown.

He attended school in the Giddings Independent School Dristrict and graduated in 1967.

Quilla, Jr. Joined the U.S. Military in 1969 and served for two years.  He was most proud of his service to his country and safely returning from the Vietnam War.

After returning from the military, Quilla made his home in Fort Worth, TX.  He spent many years assisting his brother in his self owned business.  He enjoyed spending time with his uncles who have all passed on.

Following an extended illness and hospitalization, Quilla’s earthly life ended on April 3, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his father, Quilla Brown, Sr.; brother, Kenneth Wayne Brown; sister, Cynthia Hunter; his maternal grandparents, Ora Lee and Burnet Wade; and her paternal grandparents, Elizabeth and James Brown.

Quilla leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Willie Mae Brown of Giddings, six sisters, Van Etta (Roger) of San Antonio, Doristene of Ft. Worth, Elaine of Giddings, Eva (Rev. Robert Walker) of Manor, Berna (Rev. Larry Joiner) of Round Rock, and Alisa of Austin; two brothers, Ray of Fort Worth, and Kelvin (Stacy) of Liberty Hill; a devoted niece, Sherry of Fort Worth; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Adhering to the pandemic safety guidelines currently in place, services are pending and will not be held until it is safe for us to gather and honor his life.  The family requests your continued prayers.
