Regina Faye Jones-Winfield was born to the union of Herbert Allen Jones Sr. and Opal Lene Wallace on March 30, 1960, in Dallas, TX. Regina, known as the prankster and queen of scary storytelling, was the oldest of six. Her early education was spent at W. W. Bushman Elementary School, and she attended junior high school at Sarah Zumwalt Middle School. She is a proud graduate of Skyline High School Class of 1978 where she participated in Speech and Debate. She would later continue her education at Cedar Valley College where she excelled as a point guard on the basketball team in 1979. She also continued her education at the University of Phoenix earning her associate’s degree in business and administration.
Regina accepted Christ at an early age where she was baptized at Reagan Chapel Baptist Church later renamed Eastgate Baptist Church. She later became a devoted and profound member of the Inspiring Body of Christ. She also took pride in being a dedicated and hard worker. Some of her most well-known employers included Greyhound, Ozarka, and sixteen years at Parkland Oncology where her name is etched in the glass of the newly renovated hospital. Her last employment was with Martin Luther King Center as coordinator until her health declined. Regina spent a lot of her free time traveling and attending numerous concerts. Most of all, she enjoyed photography, modeling and her favorite of them all, acting. She loved the spotlight and is known for her role in stage plays.
Regina’s bright and contagious personality will truly be missed. She is proceeded in death by her father, Herbert Allen Jones Sr.; her siblings, Patrick Jones and Opal Jones; and her nephews, Dominique Jones and Anjeus Jones. She leaves behind her two sons whom she loved with all her heart, Brandon Jones and Donovon Ridley; her granddaughter, Alaya Flowers; her siblings, Lynn Allen Jones, Jacquelyn Walker (Victor Sr), and Herbert Allen Jones Jr. (Lashell); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
