It is with profound respect and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruby Lee Banks, born October 27, 1951, who peacefully departed this life on March 20, 2026. Ruby Lee's vibrant spirit and generous heart left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Ruby Lee was celebrated for her outgoing and candid nature. She spoke her mind with honesty and clarity, embodying a spirit that was both direct and deeply compassionate. Her love for people was evident in every interaction, and she was known for her willingness to give selflessly — truly one who would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation. Her passion for soul music, particularly the melodies of Maze, brought joy and rhythm to her life and those around her.
A gifted athlete in her youth, Ruby Lee ran track during her high school years in Crosby, Mississippi, showcasing a determination and athleticism that foreshadowed the enduring strength of character she exhibited throughout her life.
Ruby Lee embraced many cherished roles—mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend—and through each, she shared kindness and warmth. Her memory lives on in the hearts of those whom she loved and who loved her.
We will honor Ruby Lee’s life with a viewing held on March 26, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Freeway. The funeral service will take place on March 27, 2026, beginning at 12:00 PM at Ideal Family Church, 1000 East Red Bird Lane, Dallas, Texas.
