Ruth Morgan, a cherished soul known for her vibrant personality and devoted spirit, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. Born on October 6, 1933, in Montalba, Texas, Ruth lived a life marked by warmth, dedication, and a joyful approach to every endeavor.
A proud graduate of Palestine High School’s Class of 1951, Ruth embarked on a career that reflected her passion and skill in baking. She was employed for many years with Hostess as a master mixer and baker, retiring honorably from this position. Following her retirement, she continued to share her talents with the community through over a decade of service in the baking department at Kroger.
Ruth’s personality was truly magnetic; she was known to be very sociable, bubbly, and full of laughter, embracing life with energetic enthusiasm. An easy-going person who loved to talk and connect with others, Ruth brought joy wherever she went. Her family fondly remembers the love and care she showed them, and her niece and nephew often affectionately referred to her as “very nosey,” a testament to her deep interest and involvement in the lives of those she adored.
Among her many interests, Ruth had a particular affection for Blue Bell ice cream, favoring lemon custard as her top flavor, followed closely by vanilla. She was also celebrated for her exceptional culinary skills, especially her fried chicken and cherry cheesecake, dishes that brought comfort and delight to family gatherings.
Her proudest accomplishments extended beyond her professional and culinary talents into her spiritual life. Ruth served faithfully on the Women’s Mission Board at New Greater Mount Zion Church under the leadership of Pastor I.B. Butler, demonstrating her commitment to faith and community service.
Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved spouse, John Morgan; her father, Alton Gardner; and her mother, Ocie Williams Gardner. She leaves behind her siblings Valli Jones and Vertie Harrison, and her devoted nephew Melvin Morgan, niece Amy Morgan, and nephew Ron Crook, who will carry forward her memory with love and respect.
Ruth Morgan’s life was a testament to kindness, joy, and dedication. Her legacy will endure in the hearts of all who knew her, remembered for the laughter she shared, the warmth she gave, and the love she so freely offered. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
