Mrs. Ruth Taplet Regis was a long-time resident of Dallas, Texas. She passed away on January 2, 2026, in a hospital from a brief illness surrounded by loved ones. She was born August 20, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Emma and Matthew Taplet Sr. and departed this life January 02, 2026, at the age of 82. Ruth grew up in New Orleans, where she attended Orleans Parish schools. After she graduated from high school, she married Arthur Regis Jr. and from that union three children were born. Ms. Ruth then went to work later in life at Moisant International Airport for several years in New Orleans. As she became a resident of Dallas, Texas being displaced by Hurricane Katrina, she worked as a toddler teacher at First Baptist of Dallas daycare center until she retired.
Ruth enjoyed singing her favorite gospels songs, cooking (namely, her delicious New Orleans style file’ gumbo), reading her bible, watching her favorite shows on TV, shopping, playing her grandson’s guitar for fun to pass time and spending time with her children, grandson, son-in-law and her brother. In the early noon day of January 2, 2026, by provincial hand of God, an angel descended to the bedside of Ruth Taplet Regis saying the time of your departure has come. “For I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all of them also that love His appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8.
She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Regis Jr., her parents Matthew Sr. and Emma Taplet, her siblings, Emma Taplet, Matthew Taplet Jr., Elnora Allen, Melvin Taplet Sr., Alfred Taplet, Rosemary Bradley, Alvin Taplet, and Geraldine Taplet.
Ruth leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, a son and a son-in-law, Karen Regis of Dallas, Texas, Gretchen Regis David (Richard) of Dallas, Texas, Kevin Regis, Sr. of Dallas, Texas. She also leaves to cherish her memories one highly blessed grandson Kevin Regis Jr., nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends. Ruth also leaves memories with her two siblings, two brothers Percy Taplet of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Leroy Taplet of Plano, Texas.
