SAMMIE LEON HESTER Jr.

SAMMIE LEON HESTER Jr. was born on December 13, 1954, in Dallas, Texas, and passed away peacefully in his hometown on February 18, 2026. He lived a full and vibrant life, marked by his dedication to his career in welding, which he approached with the same fervor and determination as he did everything else in his life.

Sammie was a proud Army veteran, having served his country with honor. His experiences shaped him into a hardworking individual, instilling values that he carried throughout his life. Not only was he admirable in his work, but he was also known for his spirited personality. A true jokester with a great sense of humor, Sammie never met a stranger; his ability to connect with others was both remarkable and heartwarming. He had a passion for helping people, particularly his family, and his kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Outside of work, Sammie was an avid sports fan, with the Dallas Cowboys as his favorite team. His enthusiasm for sports was infectious, and he cherished the moments spent cheering for his team alongside friends and family. Additionally, he found peace and relaxation in fishing, which provided him an opportunity to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature.

A funeral service will be held in his honor on March 5, 2026, at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. The service will begin at 11:00 AM.  Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of this remarkable man who will be deeply missed by all.
