Sandra Walker, a beacon of strength and resilience, elegantly traversed this world from February 2, 1947, until her departure on December 17, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. A daughter, a mother, and a nurturer, Sandra's life was a tapestry woven with the threads of dedication and compassion.

Her journey began at Bishop College, where she not only honed her intellect but also displayed her athletic prowess by running track, a testament to her tenacity and spirit. She carried that same vigor into her dual careers in home health care and catering, fields where her giving heart and meticulous nature shone through. With every meal prepared and every patient cared for, she infused her work with love, ensuring that each person felt cherished and valued—reflecting the serious but caring personality that endeared her to many.

Sandra was known for her outspoken nature, a trait she wielded with grace and purpose. She was a woman unafraid to voice her thoughts, yet equally devoted to uplifting those around her. Her home was a sanctuary filled with laughter and warmth, where her passion for cooking came alive, often accompanied by spirited afternoons spent watching game shows—a guilty pleasure that brought joy and delight.

Her legacy finds strength in her family. She is survived by her sons, Curtis Smith (Shemonicakee) and Marvin Smith (Wilma), to whom she imparted the values of hardship, perseverance, and love. The laughter and liveliness continued through her six grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren who will forever carry the light she ignited within them.

Sandra's heart endured heartbreak with the loss of her son, Raymond Walker, her beloved brother I.D. Smith, Jr., and her father, I.D. Smith, Sr., yet she remained an unfaltering pillar of strength for those who remained. Her proudest accomplishments echoed through the lives she touched, primarily through her children, whom she cherished with fervent pride and affection.
