Sereta Toye Brown, a beacon of resilience and joy, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, in Midlothian, Texas, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories and an indelible mark on the hearts of those she loved. Born on February 1, 1971, in Dallas, Texas, Sereta exemplified the spirit of an outgoing, caring, and happy soul whose vibrant energy illuminated the lives of all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Sereta's unwavering spirit shone brightly, even in the face of illness. Her resilience was a testament to her character, inspiring those around her to embrace each day with gratitude and joy. She approached life with an independence and fervor that was infectious, always the first to engage in laughter and fun, making every moment one to remember.

Sereta found her true fulfillment in the roles of mother and grandmother, proud of her two sons, Mark McCleary (Mariana) and Marquale Brown, and her two daughters, Jessica Brown and Jasmine Brown. The love she poured into her family was unparalleled, shared generously with her seven grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye. Her pride in being a mother and grandmother remained one of her proudest accomplishments, and this love was a guiding force in her life.

In addition to her family, Sereta's circle of love extended to her siblings—Tara Brown, Karen Brown, Sharon Brown, JoAnn Young, Roberta Young, Joseph Young, Jr., George Williams, and Quincy Creeks—who along with her children and grandchildren, will carry her legacy forward. Each shared laugh, thoughtful conversation, and tender moment weave a rich narrative of kinship that will endure.

Sereta found joy in the simple pleasures of life—be it watching movies, shopping, listening to music, enjoying family time, or indulging in peaceful naps. These activities painted a portrait of a woman who lived fully, embraced every experience, and cherished the people in her life.

Her beloved parents, George and Deborah Brown, predeceased her, but they surely welcome her home with open arms.
