SHARONDA MCGEE

April 11, 1966 — August 6, 2021

Sharonda Burks-McGee was born on April 11, 1966  to the parentage of Dian Burks-Brown and Willie Sewell. She attended Dallas Independent School District where she graduated from Skyline High School in 1984. She continued her education by attending  Paul Quinn College where she graduated with  her Bachelors in Applied Science in 2005. She later attended Le Tourneau University in Longview, Texas where she graduated with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in 2008.

In 1987/88, she joined a professional production company as a singer and also modeled in several shows with them. The group was called COYMA Productions and became somewhat of a surrogate family and several members were still very much active in her life.

She was truly gifted, she was multi-faceted as an artist, singer and song-writer. Most of all she loved her family and the Lord! That was most prevalent her entire life!

She was a lifetime member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. Raised in that church alongside her beloved grandmother, Ms. Abbie. Sharonda both served diligently and performed in many of their productions over the years! She was married in that church.

She was employed at Palm Beach State College from 2010 to 2016  as an Adjunct Instructor.

Sharonda was a nurturing, genuine sister and friend to many!

She is survived by her mother, Dian Brown (Bill Patterson); father, Willie Sewell (wife, Adoria Sewell); brother, Lelton Brown.

She will be joining her brothers, Eric Glen Burks and Luther Dwayne Burks; grandparents, Ruth and Joe Burks and Abbie and Ralph Price; aunts, Evelyn Anderson and Pauline Anderson, who all preceded her in death
