With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we remember Sheila Ann Grace-Carter, a cherished soul whose presence illuminated every room she entered. Born on September 30, 1955, in Timpson, Texas, Sheila's journey through life was marked by an unyielding spirit and a heart overflowing with love. Her passing on March 10, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, leaves behind a legacy rich with courage, devotion, and an indomitable will.
Sheila was known for her fiery nature—fiesty, stubborn yet tender-hearted—a beautiful paradox that endeared her to all who knew her. Those closest to her saw a woman bold and outspoken, a force of generosity and kindness woven seamlessly into her very being. Her resilience in the face of life’s trials bore testament to a strength fortified by faith; Sheila was a God-fearing woman, steadfast in her beliefs and a dedicated practitioner of tithing. Yet behind her outspoken exterior lay moments of quiet reserve, a complexity that spoke to her loyalty and faithfulness.
More than her personality, Sheila treasured her role as a wife and mother above all else. She was immensely proud of the family she nurtured, finding her greatest joy in the love and connection shared with those nearest to her heart. Sheila’s loving husband, Lee P. Carter, Jr., stands by her memory as a testament to their lifelong bond. Together, they raised sons Joshua Grace and Jeremiah Grace, whose lives reflect the values she instilled.
Her warmth extended beyond her children to a host of beloved grandchildren—Leiza, Landon, LaMarcus, Joshua Jr., Jalen, Justice, Journee, and Logan—whose lives she touched with boundless affection. This closeness blossomed further with great-grandchild Alyiah Grace, a symbol of the enduring legacy Sheila leaves behind. Alongside this beautiful tapestry of family are her dear sisters, Angela Rentie (Dennis) and Rhonda Grace, who hold cherished memories of a sister both loving and fiercely loyal and a host other relatives and friends
Sheila's life was also marked by bittersweet loss; she mourned the passing of her mother, Connie Irving, and her daughter, Bianca Grace, whose memories remain etched in her heart and those who loved her.
In quieter moments, Sheila found solace and pleasure watching movies and crime shows, often tuning into the Lifetime station, a small but significant reflection of how she cherished simple joys amidst life’s complexities.
The community will gather to honor Sheila's memory with a viewing on March 26, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. The following day, on March 27, 2026, a funeral service will be held at Mt. Rose Church, 7141 Field View Lane, Dallas, TX 75249, starting at 11:00 AM and concluding at noon.
Sheila Ann Grace-Carter’s legacy is not solely measured by time, but by the fierce love, unshakable faith, and unforgettable spirit she leaves imprinted upon all who walked alongside her. She was a loving sister and friend, a passionate heart who gave generously, and a mother and grandmother whose pride in her family knew no bounds. In every smile, every shared story, and every quiet moment of remembrance, Sheila’s voice whispers on — resilient, bold, and eternally loving.
