SHERRY DENISE RODGERS, a cherished soul whose quiet strength and devoted heart touched all who knew her, passed away on June 12, 2026, in her beloved hometown of Dallas, Texas. Born on March 15, 1969, in Dallas, Sherry was a woman who embodied selflessness, loyalty, and a tender devotion to her family that defined her life’s journey.
A graduate of L.G. Pinkston High School, Sherry dedicated much of her life to caregiving, pouring her compassion and patience into helping others as her chosen vocation. Though she was often reserved and quiet, those close to her knew another side—a woman who loved to laugh freely and occasionally reveal a goofy charm that endeared her even more deeply to family and friends alike.
Sherry’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She was an unwavering pillar of support and love for her daughters, Denishia and Alexis Louis, and her son, Terrance Rodgers. Her heart swelled with pride for her grandchildren, Kailer Branch and M’Kayla, whom she cherished above all else. Family was her universe, and her affection extended warmly to a host of siblings, an uncle, cousins, and many relatives and friends, all of whom felt the depth of her caring nature.
In remembrance of her vibrant spirit, those who knew Sherry often smile recalling how she kept her #66 eyelashes, hair, and nails impeccably maintained—small yet striking reflections of the care she took in all things. Beyond tending to her appearance, Sherry enjoyed moments of joy watching horror movies, listening to R&B music that stirred her soul, and sharing laughter and meals out with friends. She also found delight in the world of electronics, especially phone gaming, where Dominoes brought her both challenge and fun.
Though shrouded in quiet humility, Sherry's character shone brightly through acts of giving and her profound love for those she held dear. She carried the memory of her late mother, Carol Byrd, and sister, Jeanetta Byrd, close to her heart, their spirits threading through her life with everlasting connection.
A wake service to honor Sherry Denise Rodgers will be held on June 26, 2026, at the Golden Gate Funeral Home-Allene, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. The service begins at 7:15 p.m. and will conclude at 8:15 p.m., a time for family, friends, and all who loved Sherry to gather and celebrate the indelible mark she left on their lives.
Sherry’s story is one of devotion—a life quietly but deeply felt, a heart steadfastly committed to family, and a legacy built through love and generosity. She is forever remembered as a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who enriched the lives of all who had the honor to know her. In her memory, her spirit continues to live on in the laughter, warmth, and love of the family she treasured beyond measure.
