SILAS MAGEE

It is with deep respect and heartfelt remembrance that we honor the life of Silas Magee, who passed away on May 23, 2026. Born on August 21, 1935, Silas lived a full life marked by dedication, service, and a love for the simple joys that enriched his days.
Silas was a man whose passions extended beyond the ordinary. He cherished time spent fishing and hunting, embracing the tranquility and challenge that nature provided. His adventurous spirit also led him to travel extensively, broadening his horizons and creating stories that he loved to share. Known for his quick wit and love of humor, Silas had a unique gift for telling jokes that brought laughter and light to those around him.
A proud patriot, Silas served his country with honor in the United States Army, dedicating part of his life to the defense and service of his nation. Following his military service, he embarked on a distinguished career at General Motors, where he worked diligently for 33 years before retiring. His work ethic and commitment were hallmarks of his character.
Silas was a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. His family and friends remember him not only for his accomplishments but for the warmth and kindness he extended so freely. He leaves behind many cherished memories that will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration.
The community will have the opportunity to pay their respects and celebrate Silas’s life through the services arranged in his honor. A viewing will be held on May 28, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX 75224. Following this, additional viewings and the funeral service will take place in Collins, Mississippi. On May 30, 2026, the viewing is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with the funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, both hosted at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 27 Friendship Road, Collins, MS 39428.
Silas Magee’s legacy is one of heartfelt joy, steadfast service, and enduring love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him and will forever remain in their hearts.
