Solomon Todd Boyd Jr., a kind spirit with a heart of gold, passed away on September 7, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Born on August 15, 1961, in Dallas, Texas, Solomon’s journey through life was marked by kindness, honor, and an unwavering love for his family and country.
A licensed electrician by trade, Solomon dedicated his career to ensuring safety and comfort for those around him. His work was a testament to his commitment not just to his craft, but also to the well-being of his community. Beyond his professional achievements, Solomon was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving his country with integrity and valor. His military service shaped the man he became—a true hero in every sense of the word.
Solomon was a high school graduate whose proudest accomplishments included not only his service in the military but also his cherished role within a loving family. He was deeply connected to his siblings, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives who adored him. His warmth and affection for his family were evident to all who knew him, as was their steadfast love for him.
In his leisure time, Solomon found joy in simpler pleasures—watching the Dallas Cowboys play and reveling in the tranquility that fishing offered him. These moments of enjoyment provided him an opportunity to relax and reconnect with nature, truly reflecting his easy-going charm.
As we gather to honor his memory, we invite all who knew and loved Solomon to join us in celebrating the incredible life he led. There will be a viewing on September 19, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. The following day, September 20, 2025, a funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM at St. Matthew Baptist Church in Lancaster, Texas, followed by burial at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on September 22, at 1:15 PM.
