SONIA SMITH

Sonia Yvette Smith was born in Monroe, La on October 24, 1964 to Margarete Edwards and Areece Robinson, both of whom proceeded her in death. Sonia attended Richwood High School where she was a member of the band and the dancing dolls. She then went on to graduate from Northeast Louisiana University where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. She served honorably as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army as an Army nurse. She began working at the Veteran’s Administration hospital where she gained many lifelong friends. Sonia accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and she remained steadfast in her dedication to the Lord Jesus Christ until she was called to her heavenly home on January 24, 2021. As Sonia departs from this life she leaves to mourn and cherish her loving memory her grandmother: Mrs Mildred Robinson; her only sister: Tarneshia Edwards-Holden; four brothers: Cornelius (Ricky) Edwards, Anthony (Wayne/Tony) Smith, Mykiah Smith and Michael Edwards; aunts: Vada Mims, Amanda Robinson, Mable Betson, Barbara Kendall, Velma Swan, Mary Dade, Sevettra Ruff and Joyce Edwards; uncles: Thompson (Thomas) Jordan, Percy Robinson Jr., Earl Ray Robinson; her beloved nieces: Cherika Edwards (more daughter than niece) and Kalencia Standifer; her beloved nephews: Cornelius Burton, Eric Reed Jr., and Jacory Brown; great nephew: Aiden Copeland; great niece: Rian Cooks-Reed. She also leaves a host of other nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.
