Taylor Simone Longshaw chose to live by the powerful message of Philippians 4:13 — “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.” Taylor truly took this message to heart and was guided by its conviction.
A high-achieving student, she earned magna cum laude honors upon her graduation from Bishop Dunne Catholic School in Dallas in 2017. Magna cum laude honors are rare, yet Taylor achieved this distinction a second time upon graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Prairie View A&M University.
With a keen interest in business, Taylor was recognized during an internship, resulting in multiple offers from Fortune 500 companies.
Taylor chose a different path, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit rather than the corporate environment. The leadership foundation she relied upon was forged through her experiences in school, church, and various extracurricular activities.
Her passion centered on recognizing the beauty in others and empowering them to feel their best selves. This led her to the Aveda Arts and Sciences Institute in Austin, where she successfully earned her cosmetology license in October 2022.
In August 2023, Taylor leveraged her diverse skill set—her finance degree, cosmetology license, and innate entrepreneurial determination—to co-found the successful TwoRooted Salon in Round Rock, Texas.
She was genuinely grounded. Taylor was the whole package—smart, hardworking, and beautiful. Her physical appearance was striking, yes, but it was her inner beauty and character, a gift from God, that truly defined her.
Taylor was determined to succeed and worked just as hard to ensure the success of others. To her, LOVE meant consistently doing what was best for someone else—no matter the circumstances.
We will be forever inspired by her enduring legacy of diligence, resilience, genuine humility, self-assurance, and radiant beauty that shone from within and without.
We are truly grateful for the outpouring of love and support. We are going to set up a scholarship for the youth at our church in her name.
In lieu of flowers, for those who want to give, please consider the scholarship or supporting the Women’s Shelter that Taylor and TwoRooted supported as alternatives.
Thanks so much for your kindness,
Kevin and Jackie Longshaw
