TERESA ANN LEWIS
April 14, 1961 – May 16, 2026
Born in Dallas, TX, Teresa Ann Lewis departed this world in Plano, TX, leaving behind an indelible legacy marked by strength, love, and unyielding spirit. A devoted Licensed Vocational Nurse, Teresa’s career was a testament to her profound compassion and resilience—qualities that defined her in every role she embraced.
Teresa’s journey began as a spirited young girl in Dallas, where she first graced the halls of South Oak Cliff High School, graduating in 1980. Her clarinet melodies in the marching band echoed her early dedication to discipline and art. She pursued further education by attending Dental School for Dental Assistant and El Centro College for nursing. She was continuously expanding her knowledge and honing her intelligence, which shone brightly throughout her life.
Those who knew Teresa would recognize her commanding presence—sassy, straightforward, and witty. Her honesty was legendary, matched only by her ability to communicate effortlessly on any level, making her a trusted confidant and advisor. With a caring heart and a protector ’s fierce loyalty, Teresa embodied kindness and wisdom in equal measure. Fear was never an option for her; she faced life’s trials with a courage few possess, standing strong-willed and steadfast through every challenge.
Her greatest pride lay in her family. Teresa was a pillar to her children—Kendrick Lewis, Derrick Lewis, Teresa Griffin, and Tierra Griffin—and a beloved grandmother to ten grandchildren, and great-grandmother to three precious great-grandchildren and life partner, Dennis Griffin. Surrounding her were her siblings Kenneth Miles, Myron Miles, Jr., George Greer, Vanessa Lewis, and Joyce Greer, alongside an extended family of nephews and nieces who continue to feel her vibrant spirit. Teresa cherished the joyful, chaotic warmth of family gatherings, where creating lasting memories over her favorite foods—steak, hamburgers, and fish—brought her immense happiness.
Though her parents, William H. Greer and Barbara Gail Lewis, her son Alexander Griffin, brother Gregory Miles, and niece Annessia Lewis have preceded her in rest, their memories live on within her story. Teresa’s proudest accomplishments were not only in her professional life as a nurse but most deeply in the love and legacy she nurtured in her children and grandchildren—living testaments to her enduring influence.
Teresa Ann Lewis’s viewing will be held on May 27, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX. Her funeral service will take place the next day, May 28, beginning at 11:00 AM, also at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas-ALLENE.
In celebrating Teresa’s life, we remember a woman who was more than the sum of her achievements. She was a strong-willed, intelligent soul, wrapped in kindness and humor—a loyal friend and fierce protector whose sassy wit could brighten the darkest days. Teresa Ann Lewis will forever remain a luminous thread woven through the fabric of every life she touched.
