TINA YVONNE RICHARDSON-MCELVY, born on July 9, 1952, in the quaint town of Seguin, Texas, departed this world on December 4, 2025, leaving behind a legacy enriched by kindness, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to her family. Her journey through life was marked by a passion for communication, blossoming into a meaningful career in mass communication that showcased her ability to connect deeply with others.

Tina's educational path began at Sam Houston High School, where she was part of the graduating class of 1971. She further pursued her dreams at Abilene Christian College, marking a proud moment in her journey that continued to unfold as she devoted herself to nurturing others. Her greatest treasures were always her children and grandchildren, reflecting a love that transcended the ordinary. As a devoted mother and grandmother, Tina cherished her family, weaving tales of their rich history together while sharing her culinary delights of cooking and baking pecan pies, creating a tapestry of love that filled her home.

A compassionate spirit, she embraced life with a nurturing heart, dedicated to mentoring her family and guiding them with her wisdom. Her love for a good debate revealed a spirited soul, vibrant and fully alive in every conversation. She had an immense love for sports and enjoyed the camaraderie found in games of spades, where laughter thrived amidst friendly competition. Music was another passion that resonated in her life, serving as a backdrop for countless cherished memories with her family.

Tina was not just a mother; she was a pillar of strength, a sacrificial nurturer, and the embodiment of giving. She fiercely loved her children, Shauna McElvy among them, and relished every moment shared with her grandchildren, Kyra McElvy, Gabriella Watson, Kelvin Watson, and Princeton Watson. Her two sisters, Lelia Bagwell (spouse: Lloyd) and Stephanie Lewis (spouse: Reginald), stood by her side, each contributing to the familial fabric she so lovingly crafted.

As we prepare to bid farewell, family, friends, and all those who were touched by Tina’s existence are invited to gather for a viewing on December 10, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and family hour 6pm-7pm at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas. The funeral service will take place the following day, December 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM,  held at the same esteemed location.
