TOMI DAVIS

September 8, 1994 — December 4, 2021

To know Tomi Denzel Davis was to love him. And he was loved by many. Tomi lived life to the fullest, in the moment and on his own terms. He was a bright light to his friends and family for 27 years.

Tomi burst on the scene on September 8, 1994, weighing just xxx pounds. And while a small child, he had a big personality, easily charming family, and friends. His mother showered him with love, and he never wanted for anything. A mama’s boy, he was fiercely protective of his mom, and they shared a close bond. He and his cousins, Jordan and Tanya, were close in age and inseparable during their adolescent and teen years.

Tomi was a young man with a strong sense of fashion. He was a sharp dresser and never left home unless his ensemble was perfectly coordinated. He liked his designer jeans; low hanging with expensive designer underwear prominently displayed. He completed the look with matching sneakers and maintained a collection of more than 30 pairs with a variety of colors and styles.

He was a fanatic about Nike, which meant that everything he wore was branded. He and his high school friends were so serious and committed to the brand that they established the Nike Club. After graduating from Sequin High School and attending Tarrant County College, Tomi expanded his designer choices to a variety of brands and designers. Tomi embraced color in his ensemble, including his choice of sneakers to complete his urban style and look. His favorite colors were the combination of red and black.

Known for his handsome looks, million-dollar smile and beautiful head of hair, Tomi did not leave home unless every wave was brushed to perfection. Haircuts every five days were a must. Tomi exuded just the right amount of flair and swagger and was known to spend quite a bit of time in front of the mirror.

He was an avid gun collector and owned more than ___weapons. His addiction was tattoos. When his mom asked why he needed yet another tattoo, Tomi flashed a smile and said he couldn’t get enough of the opportunity to continue expressing himself in this art form. At last count, xxx tattoos adorned his body. It complemented his personality and added to his swagger, style, and sex appeal. It was a visual display of his life in art.

Although Tomi was small framed, he was very athletic and could play almost any sport, including baseball and basketball. His unofficial coach and cousin Jordan commented that Tomi was competitive and could hold his own on the basketball court with players that were much taller and stronger than him. For many years, he was a key member of his cousin’s team, playing competitive basketball in the local Arlington leagues.

With a magnetic personality and charming smile that could melt hearts, Tomi was referred to as a lady killer. Despite such appeal, he did not allow himself to be tied down. Instead, he preferred a large circle of friends.  He could be hilarious, goofy and serious when he needed to be.  If you were in Tomi’s camp, you could depend on him to be loyal and have your back.

Audacious, care-free, hilarious, genuine, and an overall pleasure to be around, Tomi lit up a room.  And while his bright light dimmed on December 8, 2021, he remains forever etched in the hearts of those who loved him.

He leaves to cherish his memories his parents Tolliccia Davis and Leonard Jackson; two Brothers, Trey Jackson and Khari Elewai Bey; Grandparents, Tommie and Thelma Davis; Aunts Trina Washington (Kenny), Tabrina Davis and Uncle Torrance Davis, close cousins, Tanya (Kory), Jordan (Torresha), Jared, Leilani and Kairi. Niece, Jayse and Nephews, Keylan and Brelan, as well as a host of family and friends.
