TOMMIE LEE MORGAN

September 16, 1944 — December 4, 2025

TOMMIE LEE MORGAN, a venerable spirit whose journey commenced on September 16, 1944, in the heart of Dallas, Texas, departed this world on December 4, 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven with resilience, humor, and unwavering commitment to family. His life was a testament to the values he held dear—an embodiment of a proud lineage and a cherished heritage, reflected in his profound love for history, particularly that which intertwined with his own family roots.

Tommie's early years resonated with the rhythms of laughter and warmth but also with a sense of duty that would guide him through life's many chapters. Having proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps, he demonstrated a courage that not only defined his military service but also shaped his character as a devoted provider for those he loved. Later in life, he embraced his craft as a certified welder, before dedicating his efforts at the Denton State Supported Living Center, where he touched many lives with his kindness and dry sense of humor.

He was more than just a skilled tradesman; Tommie was a family-oriented man whose pride and joy resided in the bonds he nurtured with his three sons: Anthony Anderson (Rashanda), Robert Brown (Oletha), and Rickey Mapps. Each memory he shared with them was imbued with lessons that would guide them long after he was gone. His legacy is further enriched by his siblings, sister Joyce Morgan, and his loving sister Linda Seaton (Robert), along with his brother Anthony Moore (Ilene), who carry forward the cherished memories of their time together.

His interests painted a picture of a man who found joy in simplicity—whether it was listening to his favorite music or enjoying the thrill of a Jeopardy episode unfold before him. Tommie's laughter was infectious, and he thrived in moments spent reminiscing with loved ones, enriching those around him with stories and wisdom drawn from a well-lived life.

As we remember Tommie, we acknowledge his proudest accomplishments: the influence he held as a good example for his family and others who were fortunate enough to cross his path. The foundation he laid will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those he loved.

A viewing to celebrate Tommie's life will be held on December 12, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, and services on December 13, 2025 at 12 noon at Idea Family Church where friends and family can gather to share in the warmth of their collective memories. His journey will culminate with burial honors at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on December 15, 2025, beginning at 9:30 AM, in a ceremony befitting a man of his stature.

Tommie Lee Morgan, through his love, laughter, and the indomitable spirit that graced our lives, will be profoundly missed yet lovingly remembered by all who were privileged to know him.
