TOMMY RAY JENKINS

Tommy Ray Jenkins, a beloved soul who illuminated the lives of those fortunate enough to know him, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025, at the age of 70 in Sunnyvale, Texas. Born on July 4, 1955, in Monroe, Louisiana, Tommy's vibrant personality and infectious humor left an impression wherever he went.

A pillar of strength and love, Tommy dedicated his life to his family, embodying what it meant to be a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. His home was a sanctuary filled with laughter and warmth, where every gathering became a joyous celebration, often accompanied by the sizzle of grilled delights that would waft through the air. Tommy possessed an uncanny ability to make everyone feel cherished, responding to kindness with genuine gratitude and his signature phrase, "Why thank you!" His love was unconditional, extending far beyond bloodlines, reaching friends and the less fortunate alike.

Tommy’s heart, ever expansive, led him to serve his community in countless ways, including the noble act of feeding the homeless. Each plate he served was a manifestation of his deep-seated compassion, a reflection of the love he held for humanity. His loyalty to family was unshakeable, often seen visiting his mother's grave every week, honoring the love and lessons she imparted. It was there, amid the whispers of the past, that Tommy found solace, continuing to forge connections that transcended time and death.

In his leisure time, Tommy was a fervent Dallas Cowboy fan, cheering on his team with unmatched enthusiasm. His love for fishing provided peaceful havens, moments of reflection while casting lines into serene waters; and music, particularly the blues and country, resonated deeply within him, a soundtrack to both joyful celebrations and contemplative evenings. Among his many proud accomplishments was the delightful transformation of a file cabinet into a smoker, a testament to his inventive spirit and culinary passion.

He will be truly missed by wife, Barbara, daughters, LaKeysha Merrill, Toni Jenkins, Cesarea Love, grandchildren Ca'Tarin Merrill, De'Idrick Merrill, Nicosha Merrill, Tamarius Franklin, and Jacara Hamilton and host of great babies, 11 siblings.
