TONY EDWARD HAWKINS

August 11, 1971 — August 25, 2025

Tony Edward Hawkins, a cherished son, devoted father, and beloved friend, passed away on August 25, 2025, in Arlington, Texas, leaving behind a legacy that echoes with laughter, compassion, and dedication. Born on August 11, 1971, to the parentage of Harold Hawkins, Sr and Elizabeth Harper in Fort Worth, Tony lived his life with an unwavering passion, forging connections with everyone he encountered through his humor and vibrant personality.

His parents, grandparents, sister Helen Elaine Hawkins, and best friend Christopher Freeman preceded him in death.

A proud member of the Class of 1989 from R.L. Paschal High School in Fort Worth, Tony carried with him a strong sense of determination that characterized his every endeavor. He was a hard worker, unafraid of taking on challenges, whether it be fine-tuning a car in his garage, crafting as a carpenter, or exploring the open road on his motorcycle. Tony found joy in life’s simple pleasures, often reminiscing while watching the classic series "Gunsmoke," a reflection of his love for storytelling and the rugged spirit of adventure.

Tony was known for his straightforward nature; he spoke his mind and did so with an infectious laugh that filled the hearts of those around him. His competitive streak made every game, every friendly rivalry, an opportunity for lively banter and camaraderie. A God-fearing man, he served his church and community with zeal, dedicating time as a director of Vacation Bible School, leading Discipleship Training, and guiding the men’s Sunday School—a testament to his strong faith and commitment to nurturing those around him.

Tony leaves behind his loving wife (High School Sweetheart), Tricia Hawkins, of 33 years, who stood by him through life’s joys and challenges.

Tony was a proud father to his three sons—Andrew (Jessica), Matthew (Keyona), and Caleb Hawkins—and found immense happiness in the joys of being a grandfather. His grandkids—Kingston, Aubrey, Ethan, Elise, Grayson, and the soon-to-arrive Lena—were the light of his life, each moment shared filled with love and laughter. Tony created a legacy of warmth that will continue to thrive within his family and those fortunate enough to have known him.

The bonds he formed with his six siblings—Johnny Harper (Katy) Regina Nobles, Lisha Walker ( Albert), Cheryl Jones, Jacquelyn Henry ( Mark), and Harold Hawkins—are a testament to a supportive family that extends through the fabric of his vibrant existence, as they continue to cherish the shared memories that celebrate his spirit.

Tony’s influence radiated beyond his immediate family, touching friends and community members alike with his loving and compassionate nature. His absence will be felt deeply, yet his memory will shine brightly within each heart he has touched.

Family and friends are invited to honor Tony’s legacy during the following services: a visitation on September 5, 2025, at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, from noon until 4 PM, followed by a wake service at Faithful Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, commencing at 6 PM until 8 PM. The funeral service will take place the next day, September 6, at 11 AM at the same church.

Tony will be truly missed by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends as well as his Paschal H.S. family and Frank(Panther#1) and Kim Bailey(sister).

Though the world seems a little dimmer without him, Tony Edward Hawkins' spirit will forever remain a guiding light, reflecting the joy of a life lived fully and a love that endures.
