VALERIE BONDS

Valerie Bonds, born July 29, 1954, in Greensboro, Alabama, passed away on August 23, 2026, in Plano, Texas. She lived with style, conviction, and a deep devotion to the people she loved, and her memory will remain a lasting blessing to all who knew her.

A proud graduate of Greensboro High School, Valerie was remembered there as a majorette, carrying herself with grace, spirit, and confidence. She went on to build a life around her creativity and talent, becoming a hair stylist and taking great pride in earning her cosmetology license and instructor credentials. Her work reflected the same care and attention she brought to every part of her life.

Valerie was a woman of strong character and unmistakable presence. She was creative and stylish, very Southern and proper, and known for being both firm and direct. She could be feisty, and those who loved her understood that she believed in doing things the right way. At the heart of that strength was a nurturing spirit. She was deeply family oriented, very concerned about those she loved, and attentive to the details that made life meaningful. She enjoyed dancing and singing, shopping and decorating, reading God’s word, and staying in touch with people. These simple but cherished parts of her life reflected her warmth, her faith, and her desire to remain connected.

She is survived by her daughters, Cicely Dalmyda and Tynesha Heard, and her grandchildren, Taquisha Havis, Tamara Havis, Tyeisha Dalmyda, Avery Dalmyda, Kennedy Dalmyda, Simone Heard, and Tyson Heard. Valerie also leaves behind her sisters, Jacqueline Afflack, Celia Allen, Debra Lockett, Mildred Hubbard, and Jennie Roberson, as well as her brothers, Willie Williams, Jessie Allen, Jr., Jerry Allen, and Douglas Ryans. She leaves a family circle that was important to her and that will continue to carry her love, her lessons, and her unmistakable spirit forward.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jessie Lee Allen, Sr.; her mother, Alma Allen; and her sister, Vera Hambright.

Valerie Bonds will be remembered for her strength, her style, her faith, and the fierce love she held for her family. Her voice, her presence, and the care she gave so freely will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered always.
