VEDA GREEN

Veda Frances Hamilton (Mimi) Green, 87, made her transition from earth to glory to live eternally with her Heavenly Father March 26, 2021. Born March 29, 1933 in Hobbs, New Mexico to the parentage of Joel and Elsie Faye Tyler Hamilton. Veda was a precocious, spirited child and the youngest in a family of eight children. She grew up in a Christian household and accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. Her family moved to Fort Worth when she was a young child where she attended public school and graduated from the historic IM Terrell High School and Business Education College. She worked as a secretary at Tarrant County Community College until she retired. Also, she has been actively involved in Christian ministry, the call and passion of her life to which she had complete dedication. She accomplished her goal to receive advanced studies in Biblical principles to enhance her ministry. She served in many capacities of her ministry for more than 50 years and volunteered for more than 16 years at a local hospital.
Veda's "big year" was 1950. She graduated from high school in June of that year, married Sammie L Green December 16th of that year, both she and Sammie gave their lives to Christ at a Christmas revival at Love Sanctuary Church of God in Christ that year, and then joined Love Sanctuary that year. Veda and Sammie, a loving and devoted husband, were married for over 50 years, and God blessed them with five attentive sons. She believed in the endurance and bond of matrimony and devoted her life to her family of which she was very supportive. She recognized that the strengths and achievements of her family came from the God whom she reverenced.
She was a wise Christian woman with profound faith, fortitude, and stability demonstrating Godly principles and values, and who honored God with her life. She loved prayer and Bible study and was an ardent believer in God's power.
Her giving and loving spirit tremendously enriched many lives, and she strove to make a difference in the lives of her family, friends and the community where she lived. She served the Lord by helping people which was exhibited by her dedicated, long standing volunteer work. She believed that "only what you do for Christ will last", and that we must work while it is day because night will come and all will be over.
God blessed her to live a courageous and fruitful life for more than 42 years after having a life threatening surgery in 1978 due to a chronic ailment. She was an active member of the Love Sanctuary Church of God in Christ for more than 70 years and she also enjoyed a long and fulfilling retirement (25 years) from her job with TCC.
Her husband and siblings preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, sons: Sam II (Cherri), Rudolph (Joyce), Gerald (Cherrie), Kenneth and Ricky; two extraordinary nieces: Billye Washington and Gladys Moore (Lloyd); special goddaughter Wanda Tartt; beloved friends: Larry and Paula Donaldson: seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
