Evangelist Verrie Maxine Harris Brown was born July 31,1944 in Gilmer, TX to the parents of Arther James and Fannie Lee Harris. Her Family united with Snow Hill Baptist Church in Ore City, Texas were she began studying the word of God. In 1963 she graduated from Valley View High School. She was awarded a scholarship to Valley Hurds Beauty College where she received her cosmetology license as a Beautician. She also attended ITEC Career school and received her Certification in cashiering. She received her Certification to be a substitute Teacher from Mountain View College and also Studied Psychology at Dallas Baptist University. She also studied the Bible and Southern Bible Institute & College.
On April 17, 1965 she married Bennie Fred Brown and they moved to Dallas, TX. To this union two children were born and one was adopted into the family.
She was employed a short while at Union Bankers and decided to follow her dreams of becoming a Beautician. She became a color technician in Neiman Marcus Beauty salon in downtown Dallas, where she had the pleasure of coloring Mary Kay Ash hair. The founder of Mary Kay Cosmetic. After many years she decided to open 4 businesses of her own. Maxine’s Beauty Shop, Maxine’s Sunday go to Meeting Boutique & Salon, Pretty Nails and Feet and Maxine’s Beauty Supply-Salon and Boutique. She was an Evangelist for Christ, Artist, Carpenter, Seamstress, Interior Designer, Floral Designer, Inventor and Author.
Preceding her in death her parents Arther James and Fannie Lee Harris, one brother Willie Lee Harris and her husband Pastor Bennie Fred Brown Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Sheila(Billy)Millage of Dallas, TX, one son Rev Bennie F. (Kitha) Brown Jr. of Dallas, TX, one adopted daughter Maria Brown of Dallas, TX one sister Verdell(Roy) Brown of Dallas, TX, one brother Warren(Althea) Harris of Flint, MI, nine grandchildren, Amaeze Ahanotu, Anijah Millage, Dezman Brown, Dezara Brown, Dajana Brown, Aiden Brown, Kavanta Brown, Jazmine Harper, Zachariah Harper a host of Sons and Daughters in the Ministry, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
