On a beautiful summer day, July 26, 1967, Voranica Johnson graced the world with her presence, born at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas, to Nadine and Louis Jackson, who both preceded her in death. Growing up in Dallas and with roots in East Texas, Voranica matured into a remarkable individual, exemplified by her graduation from Roosevelt High School—where the foundation of her lifelong commitment to care, compassion, and service was firmly established.
After high school, Voranica ventured into the medical field, becoming a certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). With grace and kindness, she dedicated her life to helping those in need, embodying the essence of compassion that she carried throughout her life.
Voranica later found true love with Lonnie R. Johnson, who also preceded her in death. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with love, raising three wonderful children: Louis E. Jackson, Quintilla Johnson, and Christopher Johnson.
As a valued member of Christ Temple Baptist Church, Voranica spread warmth and kindness among her church family. She was one of four siblings, leaving behind Timothy Mack and Yvonna Jackson, while being preceded in death by her beloved sister, Zorana Jackson.
Her beautiful legacy thrives through her adored grandchildren: Chertavia Smalley, Kayla Johnson, Paris Gentle, Na'Von Jackson, and Zamarion Gay. They, along with an extensive circle of family members and friends, will hold her memory close to their hearts.
Voranica's remarkable warmth, strength, and unwavering love have left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will forever be remembered for her gentle spirit, generous heart, and the joy that she brought into the lives of others.
