Wayland was born March 24,1958, to the parentage of Mr. Willie and Florine Kimble-Harrison, in Denton, Texas. Up until he was school aged, he was raised by his grandparents, "Mama Lula" and "Gramps." He loved, respected, and cherished them, greatly. After moving to Fort Worth, he was blessed with an amazing step-father, W.C. Duncan, who assumed both father and grandfather roles for Wayland and his children.
Of all the things Wayland loved, many would say it was his hair most. He was rarely seen without a fresh blowout. Stop 6 was his home and you could frequently find Wayland in the creek, in his beloved Thunderbird. He was an amazing dancer with swinging out being his specialty. Wayland was a great cook and enjoyed making all the foods he shouldn't have. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and wouldn't miss a game, no matter the circumstances. Wayland loved his
children and frequently bragged about their triumphs and accomplishments. His grandchildren affectionately called him, "Paw-Paw Wayland." He enjoyed teasing, feeding, and belly laughing with them. Wayland is preceded in death by his grandparents; three parents; Willie Harrison, Florine and
W.C. Duncan, brother; Andra Harrison; three sisters, Equilla Garrett, Elsie Sweed, Wanda Smith; and two grandchildren, Tuesdai Pitts and Isaiah Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Wayland "Demond" Hinkle, Jeremy Harrison, William Harrison, and Dylan Harrison, daughters; Lashea Pitts, Ashley James (Brandon), Amber Harrison, and Brandy Harrison; sister, Linda Harrison; 12 grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
