WANDA JEAN JOHNSON

WANDA JEAN JOHNSON, a beacon of strength and compassion, was born on June 7, 1955, in the heart of Hearne, Texas. She departed this world on May 29, 2025, leaving behind a legacy as vibrant as her personality. Wanda was a remarkable Case Manager and Program Director for Better Choice and Brown Consultants, where her charming spirit and unwavering dedication made a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Wanda was a woman of many passions. Her culinary skills drew family and friends alike to her table, where laughter and love filled the air. A green thumb, she tended to both her gardens and her loved ones with equal care, nurturing life in every way possible. Her hobbies spanned from dancing to fishing, crafting to thrift shopping, each representing a facet of her vivacious life. Wanda's sassy charm and strong will made her a force to be reckoned with, while her caring nature and loving heart endeared her to everyone around her.

She was immensely proud of her family, dedicating her life to ensuring her children were supported, empowered, and instilled with strength. Wanda's legacy lives on through her daughter, Erika Ford-Harper, and her sons, David Johnson and Eric Duncan. Her love extended to her foster daughter, Lamesha Williams, and stepdaughter, Tonya Jordan, as well as her brother, Eric Ford, and two sisters, Linda Ford and Shirley Washington. She adored her granddaughter, Jaida Robinson, daughter in love, Shavonna Williams cherishing every moment they shared.

As we gather to honor Wanda’s life, let us celebrate the indelible mark she has left on this world. There will be a viewing held at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas, on June 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on June 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM. The stories we share will echo through time, reminding us of the love, strength, and sass that defined Wanda Jean Johnson—a true mother, sister, and friend who will be forever remembered in our hearts.
