He was deeply passionate about several pastimes, which included fishing, shooting pool, and playing dominoes, where he earned himself a reputation as a "domino wiz." As an avid sports enthusiast, he celebrated a special love for all sports, with a particular devotion to the Dallas Cowboys, proudly embodying the spirit of a true fan.

Willie’s presence will be sorely missed by his community and all those who were fortunate enough to share moments of joy and camaraderie with him. His warmth and friendly disposition made him a cherished friend and companion to many.

The viewing for Willie Lee Gunels will be held on August 17, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S. R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. The funeral service will take place the following day, August 186, 2025, commencing at 1:00 PM  also at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas.
