Ms. Willie V. Strange was born on Saturday, March 21, 1931, in Rockwall, TX, to the late Willis & Martha Hood. During her youth, she attended Rockwall & Longview Public Schools. Later, she married Emerson Strange, Sr. & they celebrated 33 years of marriage.
Ms. Strange accepted Christ at an early age & later became a Member & Mother of New Caldonia Baptist Church. She served as President of the Senior Choir, was associated with the Sunday School & the Missionary Society.
She was a Most Ancient Matron of the Heroines of Jericho. She served as Manager of The Hwy 205 Cemetery in Rockwall for more than 20 years. Additionally, she received a Proclamation from the City of Rockwall Mayor Bill Cecil, proclaiming March 21, 2011, as “Ms. Willie V. Strange Day” in recognition of her service to the Rockwall Community. She passed away in her home on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at the age of 89.
Ms. Strange was preceded in death by her grandparents, Idella & Jeff Hood, Addie & John Deason, both parents, her husband, Emerson Strange, Sr., & grandchildren, Chelsea Danyelle Robertson & Raekwon Ward. She is survived by her 9 Children, Bobby Malone (Felecia), Jean Allen, Brenda Denson Prince (Donald), Emerson Strange, Jr. (Glenda), Carolyn Jackson, Pat Denson, Phyllis Byrom, Fred Strange (Patricia), Michael Strange, her Half-Brother, Pastor Charles Gray (Earlene), 15 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, a host of Godchildren, relatives & friends!
