On April 9, 1963 a beautiful baby girl, Yvette Denise King was born to Mrs. Mildred Shelton, who preceded her in death. Vet, as we fondly called her, left us too soon on February 2, 2021. She was born in Dallas, Texas. She attended Dallas Public Schools and Lincoln High School. My sister had a beautiful soul inside and out, and was a darn good cook. Cooking was her passion and everybody knew where to go for some good food at aunt Vet house. She really loved her grandkids, even the ones she didn't get to see. She had some hard times and life sometimes to beat her down, but she bounced back and started living life to the fullest, even though her health wasn't the best. She still pushed through and did what she loved, cooking and caring for her grandkids and going to church. Those left to cherish her memories; her sons, Lonnie King, Michael King, Cornelius King, one sister, Shelia Shelton-McAlpin (Ricky), one brother, Timothy Shelton, dad, Johnny Shelton. Two brothers preceded her in death, Johnny L. Shelton Jr., Cleveland Shelton. She leaves behind also eleven grandkids, Tatyana D. King, Cornelius W. King, Delilah D. King, Charity Dials, Cherish Dials, Rihanns Dials, Michael King Jr., Ariana King, one uncle, Leroy King, nephews, Tyrell L. McAlpin, Marquis D. McAlpin, Brandon Vaughn, Devunta Turner and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and friend Natoshia Culpepper.
