BOBBY YOUNG

March 29, 1949 — April 26, 2022

On April 26, 2022, Mr. Bobby Gene Young transitioned into eternal rest. He was born on March 29, 1949, in Borger, Texas to the parentage of DeWitt and Ola Mae Young, Sr. who preceded him in death.

Bobby received his formal education in the Dallas Independent School District public school system. Bobby enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country for 21 years, retiring with honor.

After military retirement he worked at Nassco until relocating to Hepzibah, GA.

Bobby will forever be remembered as a great son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend. He was known for his strong athletic ability in baseball and boxing. He was a quiet spirit that moved at his own pace, and he honestly loved people. It was nothing that a person could ever need and not be able to receive it from Bobby. He wanted the best for everyone around him. Bobby met and married Linda A. Young on May 8, 1975; to this union they would have a family to include three (3)

children: Theodore Leon, Dianne, and Jerry. Bobby loved his family, and his family will forever love him. He will be forever remembered for his service in the U.S. Navy, his love of music, fishing, his moral and unquestionable life, his smile, cooking skills, true and unquestionable friendship, a lover of all sports, willingness to help others, the Discovery Channel, listening skills, knowledge, wisdom, and love.

Bobby is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Linda A. Young and brother DeWitt “Dub” Young, Jr.

Bobby is survived by his children Theodore Leon Young, Sr., California; Dianne Young Atlanta, GA; and Jerry Young, California. Grandchildren: Theodore Leon Young, Jr., Devonte Woodson, Chelsea Young, Madysen Young, Jeryn Young, Jada Young, Saval Young, Kayla Young, and Kayona Young. Great-grandchildren: Kaylee Young, Nature Young, Harmony Young, Nolan Young, Niylah Young, Thalasis Young, and Devon Woodson. His siblings: David Lee (Ida Mae) Young, Dallas, TX.; Lee Roy (Debora) Young, DeSoto, TX.; Jimmy Dale Young, Dallas, TX.; Jerry Lee (Daphney) Young, Grandview, TX; Jewelene Young, Dallas, TX; and Darlene (Charles) Chumley, Longview, TX. An aunt Mattie Sue McClendon Amarillo, TX.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
