DAVID MOLIX JR

July 11, 1936 — August 5, 2022

David Molix, Jr. was born in the small rural community of Bains, LA.  He was the first of six children to the union of David Sr. and Winnie Molix on July 11, 1936.  God saw fit to call him to eternal rest on August 5, 2022.  He acknowledged Christ as his personal savior at the age of 13 and was baptized by the Rev. Major Payne at the Afton Villa Baptist Church. He graduated from John Dawson High School as valedictorian of his class.  He went on to Southern University where he became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.  He graduated Cum Laude with a BS degree in Horticulture and a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the USAR.  He earned a Master’s Degree in Education and a Post Graduate Certification in Supervision from UT El Paso. He taught science in the El Paso ISD, retiring with 33 years of service.

Cpt. Molix served 6 years in the active Army, including a tour in Korea and one year in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Army Commendation Metal, and the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service.

He was married to his college sweetheart, Willie Mae Ambeau. She preceded him in death after 59 years together. To this union four children were born: Darold (Nebra) Molix of Rowlett,  Rhonda Juanette Molix-Bailey of DeSoto, Karen Molix Charleston of Dallas, and David W. Molix of El Paso.

Upon moving to the DFW area, he united with the “Exciting” Singing Hills Baptist Church where he served faithfully with the Men’s and Greeter’s Ministries until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Willie Mae Molix; his parents, David Sr. and Winnie Molix; brothers, Joseph, James L. and Manuel; sister, Winnie Bailey; grandson Erik Molix and great-granddaughter, Ainsley Robinson.

He leaves to mourn his four children; his brother Samuel (Ann) of Zachary, LA; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who  loved him dearly.
