Diana Ferguson

November 3, 1955 — January 11, 2021

Diana Lynn Ferguson was born on November 3rd, 1955 in Topeka, Kansas to parents Louis and Leotha White. The fourth born child of a family of 15 children, Diana’s father served in the military which afforded the large family multiple travels around the world, including to Africa. Diana’s family eventually settled back to Texas, where they moved to Fort Worth, where she was educated in Fort Worth Independent School District. She attended Morningside Junior High, and then later graduated from Poly Technical High School in 1973. Diana went on to attend Texas Women’s University of Denton, Texas where she worked towards a degree in the medical field, later marrying her high school sweetheart, Randolph Ferguson, to whom she remained married for 45 years. They would go on to have 4 children together: Pamela, Randolph II, Jessica, and Dustin. Diana became a devoted and loving homemaker, centered around her faith, husband, children, and grandchildren. While known as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many, Diana’s devotion to Christ was what she will most be remembered for. Diana often recalled how she was urged to attend a “special church” by her husband Randolph early on in their marriage, Pentecostal Assembly. There they became saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, and were lifelong Christians. She was a longtime member of Pentecostal Assembly, True Holiness, and then later Tree of Life. Throughout her Christian journey, Diana was known as being a fervent and unapologetic praise worshiper for the Lord. She served in several capacities at the churches to which she was a member: in the choir, various committees, and as a Sunday School Teacher. Those who knew Diana described her as being extremely kind, nurturing, generous, supportive, gracious, humble, and loving. Through her beautiful spirit, she led many souls to Christ. Diana had many passions, but she most enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, often trading recipes with her mother-in-law Ethyrlene, who regarded her as a daughter. If you had the honor of knowing Diana, then you probably tasted her famous cookies. On request, Diana would whip up batches of M&M, peanut butter, chocolate chip, and butter scotch cookies. Having a sweet tooth of her own, Diana enjoyed passing on her sweet treats to others to enjoy as well. She often dreamed of opening a bakery with her sisters, many of whom were skilled at cooking and enjoyed baking themselves. She also loved listening to her gospel music, and then later in life she collected pictures and engaged in arts and crafts. Most of all, Diana loved the people in her life. Diana was a friend, confidant, and counselor to many. Lily Towner described her best when she expressed, “She was just a jewel,” which everyone who met Diana would agree, Diana was as rare and as precious as that. She had a way of having a special, beautiful, and lasting bond with everyone she met – leaving everyone who left her presence to feel as though he or she was her most favorite person in the world. She was admired and loved deeply and she will be forever missed. Diana is predeceased by her daughter, Pamela; parents Louis and Leotha White; siblings Wonda, Sonnie, Robert and Ronnie; parents in law Del and Ethyrlene Ferguson, and dear family friend whom she often referred to as her Guardian Angel, Sister Maybelle Richardson. Her life and memory will be held dear by her husband, Randolph; her children Randolph II, Jessica, and Dustin; daughter in law, Tameka; grandchildren Ashlynn, Caleb, and Randolph III; her siblings Anthony, Denise, Edward, Ellen, Debra, Sandra, Paula, Christopher, Mary, and Bobbie; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She will also be remembered by the following families who for decades remained and contributed to her life in countless ways: The Towners, The Houstons, The Woods, and nearby neighbors, The Whites, whom the Fergusons have known and stayed connected for over 40 years.
