JOSEPH EVANS

July 22, 1934 — February 13, 2021

Joseph Lee Evans Jr. was born on July 22, 1934 in Dallas, Texas to Mr. Joseph Lee Evans Sr. and Clarice Jones of Jefferson, Texas. Joseph Jr. spent his childhood in Jefferson, Texas and attended Central Elementary School and High School. At the 18 he joined the United States Navy and served in the Korean War. He married Bobbie Jo Williams of Jefferson, Texas, and to that union three children were born, Anthony, Michael and Denise.

Later in life he married Charles Ella Hammond and blended her three children into his fold, Rita Finley-Lacy, Ann Finley and Harold Finley. He had successful careers in supervisory positions at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, Santa Monica, CA, Houston Hobby Airport, Houston, Texas and retired from McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas, NV.

Upon his retirement, he moved back to Dallas, Texas where he lived until his passing on February 13, 2021 with his S-Daughter Ann by his side.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Clarice Jones, father Joseph Evans Sr.; his maternal and paternal grandparents; wife Charles Ella Hammond-Evans; mother of his children Bobbie Jo Williams.

He leaves behind his son Anthony Evans (Monica), Michael Evans; daughter Denise Evans S-daughters, Rita Finley, Ann Finley, S-son, Harold Finley; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of dear friends. He was loved dearly and will be truly missed.
