LINDA COLEMAN

June 2, 1956 — February 11, 2021

Lady Linda Faye Armstead Coleman was born on June 2, 1956 in Dallas, Texas to the late Elder Lloyd and Thommie Faye Armstead. She was reared in Smithland, Texas and graduated from Jefferson High School.

To her family she was affectionately called Lin. Lin accepted Christ in her life while attending Living Fountain COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Paul Waites. She was a very willing worker and served there until her Pastor was called home to be with the Lord. She later took refuge and joined her family church at Galilee COGIC under the leadership of Supt. Raibon Hunter where she was licensed as an Evangelist Missionary.

She later met the love of her life Elder Tommie Coleman and on July 12, 2003 they married and she joined Steven Temple under the leadership of Bishop R. L. Asberry. After the transitioning of Bishop Asberry, her husband was appointed and installed as Pastor and she served faithfully with him as the First Lady.

She cherished and adored time with her family. She never met a stranger and had a way of making people feel loved and welcomed. She was known to many as an encourager, motivator, and the loudest cheerleader in the building. She absolutely loved people and wanted you to know that if no one had told you they loved you today, I love you, and she meant it. She lived by the motto that “people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care”. In her presences you were going to laugh, feel included, accepted, and loved.

Lin loved to serve people. For over 30 years she worked diligently at Child Protected Services (CPS) until she retired. She was a committed prayer warrior and for years she prayed at 5am daily. She loved the Lord with her whole heart and would share her faith with everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She leaves to forever cherish her memories her husband, Pastor Tommie Coleman Jr., her beloved children Elder Christopher Armstead (Serita), Candice Armstead (her special friend Eddie), Joe Bayson, a stepson Tommie Coleman III (Carolyn), grandchildren, Johniah, Jayla, Joy, Mirecle, Christopher Jr, Eunice, Adrian, Gabriel, Courtney, Tameka, Pandra, Kenneth, and Brad, her sister, Missy. Edna Turner (Charles) her brothers, Richard Armstead (Joy) and Cornelius Armstead (Diane), her special cousin Beulah Martin, 1 aunt Mae Queen Smith, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends as well as her beloved church family.
