MARY ELLEN FENN , age 91 , of Fort Worth TX , died Saturday May 29 during a brief stay at Huguley Memorial Medical Center ,of heart failure
Born in Kokomo Indiana ,December 13 1929 . She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy, in Tipton Ind. , and went on to Marian College for Girls in Indianapolis .
Her main interest was the raising of 4 children she had after her marriage to LT. James R. Fenn of the USAF , in 1951 .Because of her being an Air Force wife ,
the next 30 years led to the family residing at various intervals, all over America and included 5 years stationed in England . In 1980 , upon her husband's retirement
Mary Ellen returned to settle in Kokomo near her family ,where she and her husband opened an antique store in a barn . After the death of her husband , Jim , Mary Ellen moved to Northern California , just north of San Francisco to be near several of her children, and later to southern California near Palm Springs .
Then , in 2013 , moved to the Fort Worth area with her caretaker friend and companion ,Glenn Hildreth .
Her most passionate interests were two fold . That of painting , both in oils and watercolors .She nurtured this from high school throughout her life and was quite talented , and was an avid collector of antiques, a major interest born from the time she lived in England . It can be noted that the entire family learned and shared this passion also .
She was predeceased by her husband Jim in 1991 , her youngest son Robert , in 2003 , and her youngest child and only daughter , Mary Ellen , in 2016 .
Mary Ellen is survived by sons , Jim Fenn (Jr.), 68 , of San Francisco , and Richard Fenn , 66 , and his wife Elizabeth Fenn , 53 ,of Dallas , as well as 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren .
May she rest in the bosom of heaven .
