MYRTHA ADKINS

August 13, 1929 — January 9, 2021

Myrtha W. Adkins was born in Grande Cane, LA, on August 13, 1929, to Noble and Fronie Williams. She was united with Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Elizabeth Baptist Church in Grand Cane, LA. She moved to Dallas, TX in the 1950’s where she raised her family and had a rewarding career in catering and housekeeping. Through out Myrtha’s life, she dedicated her life to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, supporting sister and friend. In her spare time, she loved cooking, gardening, fishing, sitting around the table playing cards, and spending time with friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Fronie Williams, her husband, Lewis J. Adkins and son, Lewis A. Adkins and three sisters and seven brothers. Myrtha Adkins is survived by her loving sons, Robert Lee Williams (Ella) and Johnny David Adkins (Devetta) and loving daughters, Janece Adkins and Fronie Adkin-Golightly (Stan), sister, Irene Williams and brothers, Curtis Williams and Western Williams (Vivian). She also leaves to cherish eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
