SAMUEL FISHER

March 6, 1951 — July 25, 2020

Samuel Fisher, born March 6, 1951 in New Orleans La., a United States Air Force and Vietnam Veteran, entered into eternal rest on Saturday July 25, 2020 at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Irving, TX., covered in and comforted by the prayers of family and friends. Samuel Fisher, a graduate of Booker T Washington, New Orleans La. class of 1969; baptized while stationed at Nellis AFB, NV; Stationed Overseas in Germany and Korea, and many Stateside Bases; recent retiree of ICON/Ricoh, had recently rededicated his life to the Lord. Samuel is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Fisher; five children, Kwemana Sr, Amina Ford (Franco), Samuel (Salonge), Talisha Bennett (Charles) , and Dennis; 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 9 siblings, Bolden Jr, Fletcher (Sharon), Blane (Jane), Gregory (Deloris), Kevin (Gaynell) and Brian Fisher, Doris Fortune (Ronald), Darlene Jordan (Alfred) and Yolanda Wallace (Don) and a host of other relatives and friends. Loved by his children and adored by his wife, and as quiet as could be, his love for his grandchildren was evident by every call to Grandpa or request to say hello to Buddy Gramps. Although he will be sorely missed, no matter the path taken to get here, he had definitely made an impression in the lives of the generation that followed.

Samuel is preceded in death by his parents, Bolden and Willie May Fisher; two sons, Kendrick and Deshone; sister, Nadine; and other family members and friends.

May we hold to the memories that will leave us with smiles, and the greatest being that he was a Believer of our Lord Jesus Christ. So even in death we hold to this command, the first with a promise, “Honor your father and mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.”

Sleep well Pops.
