SHEILA UPSHAW

December 5, 1944 — January 9, 2020

Shelia Joyce Upshaw, born a twin of Walter and Evelyn Davidson on December 5, 1944 in East Chicago, Indiana. Shelia passed away January 9, 2020. She married her High School sweetheart Leonard Upshaw and from that union she is survived by her beloved daughter Terri Upshaw; she also leaves behind sisters Iris Curry, Merle Yarbrough, Joan Harger, brother Heath Davidson and godsons Charles Dunomes, Joseph Turner and a host of other nieces, nephew’s extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her sisters Shirley Carvin (her twin), Darlene Williams; brothers Chester Davidson, Ronald Davidson. She was a genuine person that gave not because she had to, but because she wanted to.

Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The African American Museum At Fair Park; 3536 Grand Ave, Dallas, TX 75210-1005, in her honor.
