Ruthie Marie Bass Wilks was born October 12, 1939 in Trawick, Texas to the parents of Elisha (Lige) Bass and Annie Lee Esco (Percy) Bass. She was the fourth of eight children born to this union.
Ruthie received her formal education in Trawick and Cushing, Texas and graduated high school in May 1958. She also attended Texas College in Tyler, Texas. In 1960, Ruthie moved to Dallas, Texas to live with her cousin. On July 13, 1968, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Allen Junior Wilks, and they were blessed with two sons, James Allen Wilks, II and Alton Jerome Wilks.
Ruthie brought to this union a daughter, Carla Perricone and Allen brought to this union a son, Rodney Abrams.
She served her community for greater than fifty-two years as a loving and dedicated nurse. Ruthie loved her family and enjoyed cooking their favorite meals or baking their favorite desserts.
